The Women's Debate Institute, the only debate camp in the country that 
caters exclusively and specifically to high school age women, is back for 
its fifth year, 2005.


Please see the attached description for the WDI.  There is continuing 
discussion in this activity about empowering and retaining females in this 
activity.  This community is continuously seeking ways to better those two 
goals.  The WDI is a wonderful, innovative approach in furthering that 
mission.  The staff members are well-known high school and college debate 
coaches and it promises to be an excellent learning and growth experience 
for women in debate.

Aimed at providing first-rate education -- and retaining young women in 
debate -- WDI has grown into an important annual community-building event 
for women and girls who love high school debate. This year's camp will be 
held from Aug. 7-10 at Fort Worden State Park in Port Townsend, Washington.


The camp features outstanding staff from across the country, including Linda 
Collier and Rae Lynn Schwartz.
