Bronx High School of Science
                  Seeks Policy Debate Coach

The Bronx HS of Science seeks a policy debate coach for one of the most
prestigious debate teams in the country. For the last four decades, the
Bronx Science policy debate team has won many national and state
awards, including the New York State varsity championship this past
April.

The head coach of the policy debate program must be a mature person
with strong leadership and organizational skills. The team size ranges
from 25 to 40 students. The coach must also be able to work in a large
cooperative environment that includes other coaches, teachers,
students, parents, and the administration of the Bronx High School of
Science.

Each coach is required to work after school 2 or 3 times a week and
attend 3 or 4 tournaments per month, always acting in the role as both
coach and supervisor. All tournaments are 1 to 3 days long and most
are held on weekends. Since the Bronx Science Forensics program is
competitive on a state and national level, many tournaments require
traveling throughout New York, while some require traveling out of
state.

Monthly salary is competitive with almost all other debate programs
throughout the country.
